New Yorkers continued their extended holiday weekend Monday by heading to local pools and beaches as they tried to keep cool in what's likely to become the summer's first official heat wave.

Coney Island has been a popular destination all weekend.

Lifeguards are on duty from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.
